Las Lajas Sanctuary

A shrine was first built in this location in the middle of the 18th century after an apparition of the Virgin Mary instigated popular pilgrimage to the site. This Roman Catholic cathedral was built in Gothic Revival style between 1916 and 1949. It's definitely worth a visit if you're crossing the border at Ipiales to enter Equador.
